Hey stranger! I hope all is well, this is the part where you look through a worded window of Shane the audio guy, he's pretty cool once you get to know him...honest.

I'm Shane, I was born & raised in Guernsey and now I dabble into being a Musician/composer, Audio Engineer, Sound designer, games designer and blogger.

I have a passion for most genres of music and attend gigs when I can. I started by teaching myself to play guitar, shortly after I picked up the bass, tried the drums but it turns out I'm a wrecking machine!

Since a boy I was always intrigued by the sound engineer at gigs and recording studios I wanted to learn more about engineering in aims to make a career from it but I was too scared of all the cables and knobs, until one day in a new country while applying to be a fireman there happened to be a college across the road with a sound engineering course, and that happened.

While learning my way through the DAW's I started creating digital music using a MIDI keyboard controller which lead me to finally learn to play the piano. As my knowledge & experience became more equipped I was eager to do more, I wanted to get involved in the growing gaming industry to improve my skills, knowledge & potential career path.

All my sounds are created from scratch, meaning no external samples are used, making audio from self-recorded audio and by using white/pink noise via various filtering, enveloping, EQ and other editing techniques.  Some of these procedures can be found in the blog.

During university I made it my mission to network, network, network. Not just to build contacts but to learn each persons discipline and how each merge into a playable game/app. By doing this I started to become more involved with game development rather than "just the audio guy" and at this moment in time I am a Game development project manager and sound & music designer for a game to be entered into various competitions in 2017.

I blog about some of my work, not to show it off but to inspire others and to gain feedback on how things could be taken with a different approach and how it would benefit it. I am a strong believe that knowledge is power and with power great possibilities can be achieved.

I love being part of projects no matter how large or small, being in the creative industry feels more like a life style than a job.
