CoyCoy - Zen Fury
Global Game Jam 2016
I provided the team with music and sound fx for the game design of Zen Fury is a fast paced multiplayer game competing to nuture a bonsai tree which has music tune speed up and no 'walk backwards' control to really test your patience.
Game engine: Unity
The team:
Doug Flinders - Artist
Henry Pullan - Programmer
Coleen Gollan - Game design
Magnus Stone - Game design
Shane Ellis - Audio / music

I was initially at the game jam event as a volunteer to assist people in any way I could. Due to the shortage of sound designers and musical composers I was able to provide this team with audio.
The team went though many ideas for the competition but did not start on this design until the second day (the last day.
The team described the game to be based on furious monks participating in ritual tasks while under the clock.
They wanted something that would demonstrate pace and nuisance within the music. I went for the wood and wind instruments known to provide the sounds of the culture with a chirpy and lively melody with wooden hits providing a rhythm which almost feels out of place then when playback speed increases the music becomes a distraction to influence ultimate zen fury!
